the

bookings.
The
Mahindra
Thar
RWD
is
offered
in
three
variant
levels
and
is
only
offered
with
a
hardtop
roof.
The
Thar
RWD
is
offered
with
both
diesel
(manual
gearbox
only)
and
petrol
engines
(automatic
transmission).
The
base
Thar
RWD
AX
(O)
variant
is
priced
at
Rs
9.99
lakh
while
the
Mahindra
Thar
RWD
LX
variant
is
priced
at
Rs
10.99
lakh.
The
petrol
Thar
RWD
LX
variant
is
priced
at
Rs
13.49
lakhs
(all
prices
mentioned
are
ex-showroom
and
introductory).
Deliveries
of
the
har
RWD
will
begin
on
the
14th
of
January.
The
brand
new
Mahindra
Thar
RWD
uses
the
same
petrol
engine
as
its
4WD
siblings
with
the
2.0-litre
turbocharged
engine
producing
150bhp
and
320Nm
of
peak
torque.
The
petrol
engine
is
offered
with
a
6-seed
torque
converter
automatic
gearbox.
The
Thar
RWD’s
diesel
engine
is
an
all-new
unit
dubbed
D117
CRDe
by
Mahindra.
The
new
D117
CRDe
engine
displaces
1.5
litres
and
produces
117bhp
and
300Nm
of
peak
torque
under
the
bonnet
of
the
new
Mahindra
Thar
RWD.
The
diesel
engine
is
only
offered
with
a
manual
gearbox.
The
Thar
RWD
is
offered
with
two
new
paint
schemes
–
Blazing
Bronze
and
Everest
White.
The
Thar
is
also
offered
with
new
accessory
packs.
These
include
exterior
and
interior
style
packs
in
four
different
designs.
The
accessories
also
include
new
front
and
rear
armrests
with
storage
with
the
ones
at
the
rear
also
featuring
cup
holders
and
USB
charging
ports.
Meanwhile,
Mahindra
has
also
updated
4WD
variants
of
the
Thar
with
a
new
brake
locking
differential
that
was
developed
in
collaboration
with
Bosch.
The
mechanical
locking
differential
will
still
be
available
as
an
option
for
the
LX
diesel
variants
of
the
Thar
4WD.
